With regards to maintaining and improving workability in the industry in response to demographic challenges and the consequences of the extension of working life, the social partners in the chemical, plastics and life sciences industry have agreed to use an innovative approach. With the creation of the Demography Fund, they provided business actors with the tools and means to stimulate new business-specific and age-conscious measures in careers, with particular attention to older workers, shift workers and workers with heavy or strenuous jobs, taking into account an efficient labor organization. Four action fields for workable work have been selected: work, health, competencies and career management.
