Are you a recent graduate with a Master’s or Bachelor degree with little or no work experience? Passionate about the fascinating world of fashion?
Have you just finished your study in fashion or design? Or have you just launched your own label?
The International Fashion Management program is a specialized master in global management, providing you with essential management knowledge and skills needed in the fashion industry.
While other fashion programs abroad focus on global luxury labels & the established companies/groups, this program focuses more on entrepreneurship and how to develop a fashion brand. This program emphasizes the current challenges of the fashion industry: sustainability, digitalization, technology, the dynamics between global and local markets, developed and emerging markets.
We will challenge and coach you to become a leader, thinker and/or entrepreneur, working in responsible, analytical and ingenious ways. We will prepare you for a leading role in finance, purchasing, branding, or a role that combines it all…
The Master in Global Management – International Fashion Management is an international master, and you will experience the industry by observing this in some of the major fashion hot spots around the world! You will be based in Antwerp but will also go on a trip to Milan.
Antwerp is without any doubt one of the most creative and entrepreneurial cities in Europe, in which new trends and designers are endlessly evolving. As one of the world’s leading fashion capitals, it has developed its own distinctive fashion identity based on the creativity of their independent high-end designers, particularly with the rise of the ‘Antwerp Six’ in the eighties (Dirk Bikkembergs, Ann Demeulemeester, Walter Van Beirendonck, Dries Van Noten, Dirk Van Saene, Marina Yee). Antwerp has it all: high-end fashion designers, small independent labels, as well as family businesses.
Milan is the place to be for fashionatas and the fashion capital of the luxury brands, the hometown of Giorgio Armani, D&G, Prada and Versace. Visit Milan during Fashion week and discover what drives the luxury fashion market and how to manage this fast paced, highly competitive industry.
In Antwerp, you will do a master company project for a company (i.e. you work as a jr. consultant for a fashion company/brand etc.). In Milan you will also analyze a real business case from the fashion industry in Italy.
During the year, we will provide you wih several opportunities to connect to the fashion industry. We organize a lot of company visits, e.g. Van de Velde (lingerie) and Monar (shoes). We do a sustainability tour, we involve you in network & fashion events and we invite fashion designers and other fashion professionals to class to discuss about their business challenges and accomplishments.
During your time at AMS, we will coach you in your personal development and develop an action plan to establish/fine-tune your future career goals.
